Wealth inequality in the United States is out of control. Here we visualize the issue in a unique way.

And people will point out: most of this money is fake. It’s theoretical. It’s an idea of how much their investments are worth and it can vanish over night because of ‘the market’. They’re not stockpiling an actual valuable resource somewhere, a kind of vault that we could break into to take their wealth.

But because they have this vast imagined wealth, they can decide which resources are gathered and created, how they are used and how they are distributed. They can decide that we need to build a private jet and not a new clean energy plant. They can decide who gets drinking water.

So when you’re talking about taking that wealth, you’re talking about taking all that power.

Magic isn’t only valuable if it’s old. Magic isn’t only valuable if it’s passed down over generations. The weird hyperfixation on old magic passed in an unbroken line for centuries has led to a lot of problems for modern witches.

Yes, magic itself is ancient. Yes, a lot of it has been passed down since before written history. Yes there is a rich global history of both high and low magic that spans basically every civilization to have ever existed. But that isn’t the only good magic!

So what if modern magic was invented in the 50s, or during the Victorian era, or during the Enlightenment, or yesterday afternoon? Does it work?

If I found out tomorrow that my mother made up everything she had ever taught me, or realized that something I do was picked up on my own without noticing it, does that change anything?

Don’t let a fetishization of ancient take away from the modern. If it works, it works, and that’s valuable magic.

🎨Art Magic Ideas🎨

• Use enchanted waters such as moon, elemental or holy waters to enchant your paint water
• Create a thoughtform for/ensorcell a tool (paintbrush, pencil, needle, etc.) to assist your spell(s)
• Recite chants/prayers/affirmations (intention) as you work
• Experiment using herbs, resins, teas, etc. to make magical pigments
• Make sigil stamps out of erasers, cork, hot glue, etc.
• Create a portrait of your shadow self, or your witch/wizard/whatever-sona
• Compile or record different playlists for different spell ‘genres’, meditation, and “vision board-ing”
• Create your own recycled handmade enchanted paper for petitions
• Protect your spells by documenting them in pictograms- use only images to portray the process
• Use a recycled or handmade decorated container to house your 'personal demons’

Y’all this existing is a result of that post I made saying people should try making their own content more 🥹 That makes me so happy. I have actually never seen a post on art magic suggest making sigil stamps! I love that.
